It was more than 11 years ago that the Kennecott Scholars came
into being. Today, this partnership has grown through the generosity
of Kennecott Utah Copper to benefit more than 40 U students annually.
Senior Jo Blake, a modern dance major, is focusing on school and auditions at dance companies nationwide. "As a Kennecott Scholar, I've had unique opportunities on and off campus to develop friendships with students from many disciplines," he says. "It's added a new dimension to my U experience."
"For Kennecott, the program continues to reward itself by putting high-achieving, well-educated graduates into communities across the country every year," says Kennecott Utah Copper President and CEO Bill Champion. "We remain enthusiastically committed to the U and to supporting these diverse, motivated Kennecott Scholars and their educations."
