The name C.R. England is seen frequently on highways from coast
to coast. At the University of Utah, the company's name is synonymous
with roads perhaps less traveled - the new paths and opportunities
created for students and faculty through its gifts for scholarships
and other needs in the social sciences, business, health sciences,
and athletics.
"We're proud to maintain our support for the U," says Dan England, CEO of the company and a grandson of its founder. "The third generation of Englands now manages the company, and we've seen proof of the positive difference that college educated employees make in our business. Plus, many of our people are U alums and fans!"
Among the U's C.R. England Scholars is Lance Madsen, a junior from California studying interpersonal communications. "The financial support from the scholarship has given me time for my original research, when before I would have had to work," he says. "It's motivated me to extend myself further and get more out of my education."
